“I am the taste in pure water, the brilliance in the sun and the moon, the sacred word AUM, and the sound in the Silence.”– Bhagavad Gita
If you have ever experienced moments of silence in the past, you have probably also experienced the beautiful power that comes from them.
If you have difficulty letting go and calming your mind (and thus your mind and body), regularly practicing 'doing nothing' is extremely helpful.
Meditation is the key to that stillness. It allows you to experience everything that presents itself at that moment, both in your mind and in your body. It teaches you to interact with the things you unconsciously try to suppress or simply ignore. Meditation allows you to become more aware of the other layers of your being and to lovingly embrace them again within your totality as a person.
Regularly incorporating a day of silence is just as effective as a detox. Deep-seated blockages can be released this way. It brings you peace and restores a sense of softness within yourself, allowing your natural energy to flow again.
Scientific studies show that regular meditation is good for brain function, the central nervous system and for restoring overall health.
The day will be led by Yvonne Coppens and Franca Ficchi, both yoga teachers with many years of experience in yoga, Ayurveda and meditation.
We understand that the silence can sometimes feel overwhelming. Therefore, you are welcome to step outside during the day to relax. We don't obligate you to anything, except that the silence in the room is maintained.
At noon, a lunch of soup and sandwiches will be provided. Throughout the day, you can enjoy Ayurvedic tea if you wish. What to bring? Wear comfortable clothing with socks and bring a blanket to stay warm. A bottle of water is also helpful.
