Who is this Privacy Statement for?

This Privacy Statement applies to the processing of personal data for interested parties and clients. We respect the privacy of our clients and handle your personal data with care. In doing so, we comply with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this Privacy Statement, we inform you about how we process your personal data.

Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

For what purposes do we process which personal data?

If you receive therapy in our practice, we record and process certain personal data. This is necessary for preparing invoices and for your history of therapeutic and medical treatments. In addition, other highly personal and privacy-sensitive matters are discussed during therapy. We may make notes about these matters to ensure the continuity and development of the therapy.

We may use your (contact) information to inform you by email or in writing about topics related to the therapy we provide. We only do this with your consent (see below).

We process personal data for various purposes, which are explained in more detail below. Not every of these processing purposes will apply to you. If a processing purpose and/or part thereof does not apply to you, the personal data listed below will not be processed for that purpose. For all purposes, your name, email address, and telephone number may be processed.

Purpose: To inform

To inform you as a client about our treatments: your name and email address.

Goal: treatment

To be able to treat you as a client: your name, gender, address, email address, date of birth, and telephone number(s).

How is your personal data collected?

Your personal data is only provided to us by yourself, either by completing a form, by email, or during a personal consultation. Your consent forms the (legally required) basis for us to record your personal data. You can also choose to give limited consent for the recording of only a few details necessary for the execution of the treatment agreement. You can withdraw this consent (in whole or in part) at any time. In that case, we may no longer use your personal data or process any new personal data from you.

How is your personal data secured?

To protect your personal data as effectively as possible, we take appropriate administrative and technical measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, unauthorized modification, or other unlawful processing. This site is secured with SSL/TLS, among other things. Only we have access to your personal data.

What rights do you have and how can you exercise them?

The GDPR gives individuals several rights to protect their privacy:

  • Right to access your personal data;
  • Right to correct/supplement your personal data, with the exception of data that we are required to keep based on other legal obligations, such as financial data, or data that we are required to keep based on the regulations of our professional association(s) and/or dispute committees.
  • Right to erasure of your personal data;
  • Right to restrict the processing of your personal data;
  • Right to object to the processing of your personal data;
  • Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

You can submit your request to exercise one or more of the above rights in writing by sending us an email, after which you will receive a confirmation within 48 hours.

Providing personal data to third parties

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except in situations where we request support from another party in providing relevant information, as mentioned above. In that case, it will never include special personal data such as medical records or personal, emotional information. As a therapeutic practice, we are also bound by professional confidentiality.

  • The Ayurveda Institute has entered into a processing agreement with Google
  • Sharing data with third parties is disabled
  • We have chosen to mask part of the IP address

Retention period

We do not retain your personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes for which the data was obtained, unless we are legally obliged to retain this data for a longer period, such as for the tax authorities or in the event of disputes regarding the treatment.

Changes

We reserve the right to unilaterally amend this privacy statement. We will inform you of any changes as appropriate.
