This spicy apple-spice elixir – especially recommended in the autumn season – is a loving drink that brings warmth to the belly and peace of mind. This drink is ideal for cold hands and feet, restlessness, dry skin, or fatigue.

Ingredients (for 2 cups)
- 250 ml natural apple juice (preferably cloudy or freshly squeezed)
- 250 ml water
- piece of fresh ginger (approx. 2 cm, sliced)
- small cinnamon stick
- 2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 2 cloves
- piece of star anise (optional)
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey or jaggery (add when the drink has cooled slightly)
- Optionally, a dash of almond milk or a drop of ghee (for extra softness)
Preparation method
- Bring the water to the boil together with the ginger and herbs.
- Let the mixture simmer gently for 10 minutes with the lid half on the pan.
- Then add the apple juice and turmeric and heat for another 5 minutes on low heat (do not let it boil).
- Remove the pan from the heat, add lemon juice and stir in the honey once it has cooled slightly.
- Pour into mugs and enjoy warm, perhaps with a drizzle of ghee or almond milk on top.
